No market research. Just a backpack and an obsession.

Yum Mi Bánh Mì started the way most sensible businesses do not. We went backpacking across Vietnam, ate our body weight in bánh mì, drank phin coffee on tiny plastic stools, and came home unable to think about anything else.

So we set up a small counter near Gauhati University and started baking. The baguettes are made fresh, the pickles are made in-house, and the coffee drips through a metal phin one cup at a time. No machines doing the thinking for us.

We keep prices low on purpose. Street food is everyday food, and we want it to be your everyday too. Not a treat. A habit.
